FEDERATION SQUARE GETS CREATIVE WITH PROGRASS
Wed Mar 3 2010Prograss was selected to provide an 'Urban Games Zone' within Federation Square's outdoor amphitheatre. The object was to develop it into a relaxing seating space complimented by weekday lunchtime games to take place in the centre. The brief required a 100% Australian Made product to provide a natural ambience, but had to be able to withstand the heavy foot traffic by city workers using the area as a walkway to and from Flinders Street Station.
Federation Square receives approx. 8.5 million visitors each year and The Amphitheatre is positioned in a high footfall area on Flinders Street. Prograss installed 216m2 of Ideal Spring 50mm high density grass to provide an attractive and inviting community area.
Installed in November 2009, the latest update from the Federation Square office is
'that the Idealgrass is holding up well and proven to be a fabulous addition to the area. Visitation to the area has increased and many photo opportunities by the public have resulted'.
