SOME YARNS ARE NO BARGAIN AT ANY PRICE

Thu, 2 Jun 2011

There has been a recent surge of Asian manufactured synthetic grass being imported into Australia and although the products may cost less beware of their endurance and performance.

The lure of a lower price can mask shortcomings.  Yarns that imitate our Australian product don’t behave in the same way, nor do they have the same endurance.

Customers are entitled to rely on a supplier’s assertion that theirs is a quality product, one that will live up to expectations and deliver a long service life.

Prograss gives that assurance and stands by it!

 International Yarns – No Endurance

“Our yarns are made in Australia and are ideally suited to Australian conditions”
                                                     Tapex (www.tapex.com.au)

Specifically, the yarns used in the manufacturing of our products are UV and heat stabilised ensuring they all withstand our harsh Australian environment.  UV stabilisers ensure the yarn remains resistant to UV rays for the lifespan of the warranty period and therefore reduces the risks of the grass changing or fading in colour and degrading over a long period of time.  Heat can also have a significant impact in relation to the lifespan of synthetic grass.  Throughout several stages during the manufacturing of our products the yarn is treated directly with heat.  This heating and cooling technique provides the synthetic yarn with resilience to our extremes of climate, especially in summer.  The method also alleviates or significantly reduces any issues such as powdering, flaking or peeling, which appears to be a common problem with products imported into Australia.

“Quality, durability and longevity are our priority,
which is why we use tapex yarns exclusively in our
range of idealgrass, Landscape & golf products”
Carolyn Balderson- Director, Prograss
